This course emphasizes the core principles of the “5 Cs”—Contain, Control, Command, Communicate, and Compliance—as essential tools for effective conflict resolution and scene management. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to apply these principles in real-world situations, enhancing both safety and professionalism in the field.
A key component of the training is the strategic use of Time, Distance, and Space, which are critical factors in maintaining officer safety and achieving successful outcomes. The course also covers the fundamentals of de-escalation, including when such techniques are appropriate and, just as importantly, when they may not be effective or safe to employ.
To reinforce learning and build confidence, participants will engage in scenario-based drills that challenge their ability to apply concepts under realistic conditions. This hands-on approach ensures a practical understanding of tactical communication, decision-making, and situational awareness in dynamic environments.
